Description of Organisation:
BIC of Attika is a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to offer its services to private companies, regional authorities and public sector in Attika Region.
The company was created in 1995 as an initiative of the SME’s Chamber of Commerce of Athens with the contribution of other organizations (Chambers of Commerce, Banks, Universities, Private Companies, etc).

The BIC of Attika was supported by the DG Regio (ex Directorate General XVI) of the European Commission, which contributed with the 50% of te original capital.
The BIC of Attika is a member of the European Business and Innovation Centers Network (EBN) whose role is to ensure the continuous and effective cooperation and the exchange of know-how among the different BIC’s. The EBN is at present the biggest network of independent consultant windows (business support) in the world. After the Audit of the European Commission, BIC of Attika forms part of the best 10 ones, among the 160 BIC’s of the European Union.

Missions of BIC of Attika are:

  • Supporting and encouraging competitiveness of companies, especially with the promotion and introduction of innovation.
  • To contribute to the development of new companies, particularly those directed to ”nest” markets.
  • To support the economic development of the Attika Region and to improve the employment using effectively existent resources in the region.
  • To collaborate with the Regional Authorities of Attika as far as innovation and supporting of regional SME’s promotion is concerned.
